The FCC is now preparing to vote on rules that have been championed by advocates of net neutrality, its chairman announced Wednesday.
FCC preparations to vote on changing how the Internet is currently regulated leaves many advocates of net neutrality happy, with the final vote taking place on 2/26/15. The proposed regulation will bring both broadband Internet landline and mobile under stricter regulation and similar to utility companies. The FCC will have more power in regulating and pricing of ISPs (Internet Service Providers), which prevents ISPs from creating fast lanes and preferential treatment to those companies who pay more.
